On January 13, Kristin Lee will join the the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de República Dominicana for the second time this season, performing Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto with conductor Jose Antonio Molina. Kristin has been asked back following her performance of Brahms' Double Concerto with cellist Christine Lamprea last fall (pictured left).
In October, Kristin performed Piazzolla's The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires with the Nordic Chamber Orchestra and conductor Sarah Iaonnides. Sundsvalls Tidning reported, "...it is rare to hear a violinist with such a mellow, confident and stable sound, who does not need intensive vibrato to fill the room and carry out over the orchestra."
Kristin is also Artistic Director of the new chamber series Emerald City Music, which launched its inaugural season in fall 2016. Kristin has constructed seven themed programs for the 2016-17 season, and has appeared in two of the three so far this season: Wanderlust, performing Vivian Fung's Birdsong for violin and piano with pianist Gloria Chien, and Darkness Visible, performing Benjamin Britten's Suite for Violin and Piano with pianist Conor Hanick.
In September, Kristin represented The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center at TEDxNewYork with violist Matthew Lipman, where they received a standing ovation for their performance of Johan Halvorsen's Passacaglia in G minor (watch below). In December, Kristin embarked on a national tour with CMS, performing Bach's Brandenburg Concertos in 8 cities.
Spring highlights include performances at the Hong Kong Philharmonic, Hong Kong Chamber Music Festival, and Tacoma Symphony.
