Jan 27-29: Donato Cabrera Leads New West Symphony in 3 Concerts Narrated by Smokey Robinson
Conductor Donato Cabrera will lead the New West Symphony in three concerts on Friday, Jan 27, 2017 at 8pm Oxnard Performing Arts Center (800 Hobson Way), Saturday, Jan 28, 2017 at 8pm at Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza (2100 Thousand Oaks Blvd), and Sunday, Jan 29, 2017 at 4pm at Barnum Hall at Santa Monica High School (600 Olympic Blvd). The concerts’ program will feature Adams’ The Chairman Dances "Foxtrot for Orchestra," Copland’s A Lincoln Portrait with special guest narrator Smokey Robinson, and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 7 in D Minor, Op. 70. Cabrera is one of six conductors being considered for the New West Symphony’s Music Director position. More information and tickets available at www.newwestsymphony.org

Donato Cabrera has been the Music Director of the Las Vegas Philharmonic Orchestra since 2014 and Music Director of the California Symphony since 2013. He served as the Resident Conductor of the San Francisco Symphony (SFS) and the Wattis Foundation Music Director of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra (SFSYO) from 2009-2016.
